Milestones | 1979 : Joined Indian National Congress as an active member.
1985 : B.E (Mechanical Engineering) from PDA College of Engineering Gulbarga. Organizational participation of Seva Dal national training camp held at Kolkata, addressed by Sri Rajiv Gandhi. 1987 : Successfully and systematically organized district level Seva Dal camp at Bhalki, Bidar district which was addressed by the honorable central minister and other eminent personalities of central and state governments. 1989 : Nominated as organizing secretary of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Seva Dal. 1990 : Enthusiastically worked for the great success of all Congress candidates in the Bidar district local bodies, assembly, and parliamentary elections. 1994 : Unanimously elected as the president of Shanti Vardhak Education Society, which provides quality education to poor & needy students in particular for girls in Bidar; as this part of the world is educationally most backward district of Karnataka State. Shanti Vardhak Education Society runs 25 institutions which include Arts, Science & Commerce Colleges, Engineering College, Akka Mahadevi Mahila College in Bhalki & Bidar, Polytechnic Institute etc. Now the society is imparting quality education in Bidar district with the student strength of 10’000 and staff capacity of about 1’000. More than 2’000 students are added every year with SVE society. Shanti Vardhak Education Society runs Akka Mahadevi Mahila College in particular for girls education in Bidar. During this period institution has flourished, Degree and Technical Institutions have achieved excellence by getting certifications such as NAAC, NBA etc. 1997 : Many poor farmers of Bidar district committed suicide due to the crop loss in the year 1997. Ruling Janata Dal Government did not respond to the needs of the poor farmers. Organized a massive protest rally under the leadership of Sri.Bheemanna Khandre against the Janata Dal Government headed by Sri J.H. Patel. 1998 : Our leader Smt. Sonia Gandhiji visited Bidar district on 30th June 1998 to console the families of the farmers who had committed suicide due to crop loss. During that time successfully organized a massive Kisan rally at Bhalki, Bidar district which was addressed by Smt. Sonia Gandhi. 1999 : As a member of many co-operative movements, got elected as president of the biggest co-operative sugar factory, Bidar Sahakara Sakkare Karakhane (BSSK). Rejuvenated the factory in a whole sense, which is having now a membership of 16’000 farmers of Bidar district and 1’200 working employees. Re-elected as president second time in the year 2004 and run the factory very successfully for more than a decade. 2004 : Enthusiastically worked for the success of Congress candidate Sri. Narsing Rao Suryawamshi in the prestigious Bidar Lok Sabha by-election held in October 2004 and won the election against a lot of obstacles. 2008 : Elected as Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Karnataka state Bhalki assembly constituency, Bidar district with 64’492 votes; a lead of 21’241 votes against a tough opposition. Retrieve the sitting seat of BJP and retained with good governance till today. 2010 : Elected as president of district Congress committee, Bidar on 14 November 2010, on the birthday of our great leader Sri.Jawahar Lal Nehru. 2013 : Harmoniously elected as General Secretary of All India Veershaiva Mahasabha Bangalore which consisted 1,00,000 (One Lakh) life members which represents the 30 million (30′ 000’000) Veershiva Lingayats of the country and abroad. 2013 : Re-elected as MLA from Bhalki Constituency. 2016 – 2018 : Served as Minister for Municipal Administration and Public Enterprises. Also served as Bidar District Incharge Minister, Government of Karnataka 2018 : Re-elected as MLA from Bhalki Constituency. |
